About the Plemmons Student Union
On Thursday, April 23rd, Governor Roy Cooper updated the stay-at-home order that went into effect March 30th, 2020. In light of this order, the Plemmons Student Union will be closed until the beginning of the Fall semester. We anticipate that we will begin accepting new reservation requests beginning August 13th, 2020. Please check back for more infomation, and we apologize for the inconvenience!
As the centerpiece of the Appalachian campus, the Plemmons Student Union facilitates the mission of the University by providing opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to participate in a variety of programs that enhance learning and foster an appreciation for college life and campus diversity. The W. H. Plemmons Student Union opened in 1967 then was renovated and expanded in 1995, 2004, and 2012. The Plemmons Student Union is supported exclusively by student fees and is intended primarily to serve the educational, social and recreational needs of Appalachian State University students. It serves as a central hub for student activities at Appalachian State University and houses many departments and clubs pertaining to student life.
