Evening Operations Manager

Paul Ford is the Evening Operations Manager for the Plemmons Student Union who works with student employees and patrons to provide engaging programming that enhances their experiences at  Appalachian State.

Paul believes that providing outstanding customer service benefits our patrons and builds professional pride and a strong work ethic in the student staff  who makes the student center an engaging and safe place on campus. Paul is also the advisor for the APPS Film Program team who determine and contract the weekly movies that are shown at the Greenbriar Theater in the student union. He plays a critical role hosting sessions and presenting during the new student orientation programs each summer, too.

Paul worked for many years in tourism and entertainment before settling into the world of Student Development. Along the way, he is involved with the professional support organization for the Union field, ACUI, holding several volunteer positions and speaking  at conferences.

Paul earned  a Bachelor of Fine Arts  in Performance from the University of Tulsa and Certificate in Computer Science from Appalachian State University. In addition, Paul is a certified alcohol awareness trainer in the TiPS program and holds certifications in food safety.
