PSU Usage Guidelines

All reserved rooms will remain locked until user notifies the Information Desk of arrival.

Failure to notify Student Programs (262-3032) of a reservation cancellation may result in the suspension of scheduling privileges. Reservations with a special room setup not utilized or canceled will result in a FINE.

Audiovisual Equipment: All audiovisual equipment must be reserved in advance for all events. The PSU Staff will make every effort to accommodate last minute requests, but cannot guarantee equipment availability. For all audiovisual equipment questions or concerns, please contact the PSU AV Manager Daniel Lightfoot at 262-8085 or lightfootdl@appstate.edu.

Data Projection: Users must provide their own laptop (the PSU does not provide laptops) and arrive 15 minutes prior to event to connect. Data projection does include a data cord for connecting computer to data port.

Mac Computer Users: The Student Union provides standard VGA connections to our data projection equipment. It is the responsibility of the computer user to provide any adapters needed to interface with standard VGA connections, specifically Macintosh computer users. If you have questions, please contact the PSU AV staff prior to your function by calling 262-3030.

Internet: The PSU is connected for wireless internet access and also provides at least one data port per meeting room. For internet access, all computer  must be registered with the University network. The registration website is https://netreg2.appstate.edu. For instructions on accessing wireless internet, please visit https://wireless.nics.appstate.edu. For any questions regarding internet access, please contact  Technology Support Services at 262-6266.

The following are NOT allowed in the PSU:
OPEN FLAMES (lit candles).
COVERING of FIRE-VIEW GLASS WINDOWS on meeting room doors.
GLITTER or SAND of any type.
***Non-compliance may result in the loss of scheduling privileges.

Sound Levels: Sound levels during functions must be maintained at a level that will not interfere with surrounding events. Appropriate sound levels will be determined by the Student Union Staff.

Damage/Disarray/Movement of Furniture within a room may result in a fine and/or suspension of scheduling privileges.

Food at Events/Meetings:
1) Admission to an event cannot be charged if Food is provided, unless food is supplied by ASU Food Services.
2) If food is supplied by an Outside Caterer, the group's contact will have to provide the Reservations Manager with a Catering Permit from Business Affairs (262-2030) prior to confirmation.
3) Food may NOT be COOKED or PREPARED inside the PSU.

Contact Tables: Due to table proximity and the possibility of competing sound sources, the PSU does NOT allow boomboxes or live music at contact tables.

WARNING: Any group that "misrepresents" the purpose of an event or the identity of the organization/department sponsoring the event will risk losing all scheduling privileges.
